Christmas 2024

Bermuda Cardinals… I’ve enjoyed seeing many generations of these beautiful birds in my front garden over the years.  They are always a bright spot on an occasional grey winter’s day, although they live here year round.

It has given me such pleasure to paint my red cardinals for this year’s Christmas theme.  I have painted them in a very stylistic fashion  and limited my colour palette to primarily red, green and black with a bit of taupe.

Symbolizing abundance, vitality, strength and hope, it seems an appropriate image for the Christmas season.  These images have been translated onto runners, placemats, napkins, tea towels and even a clutch handbag.
